Why Restring your Racket?

It is important to keep checking your strings and restringing your rackets when necessary. Otherwise you may be playing with strings that are either too loose or too tight for your playing style. An incorrectly strung racket can lead to string breakage.

What type of strings should I get?

How you restring your racket depends on what kind of performance you want out of it. Do you want more power? More control? A more comfortable string? Or are you finding that you have to keep straightening your racket strings?

You might want more power if you like to play from the back of the court and need further reach, or if you have a short backswing. For more power from the racket we string them a little looser for that extra oomph.

If you want more control then we string the racket tight. It is also better to opt for a thinner string in this case. Advanced tennis players tend to use thinner and tighter strings for optimal control. Sometimes, if you’re having trouble keeping the ball in court then we would recommend this set up as well to give you more control.

Softer strings are good for those suffering from tennis elbow or other injury. A soft string absorbs the vibrations and takes some of the shock away from you.

If you find your strings are moving and you are having to straighten them a lot, then it’s best to use a hybrid string. Hybrid strings mean less movement in the string and leads to longer string life.
